Donnafugata

Donnafugata was founded in Sicily by an enterprising family with 160 years of experience in premium wines. Giacomo Rallo and wife Gabriella, daughter José, and son Antonio are engaged in an entrepreneurial project focusing on attention to detail and synchronizing people and nature to make wines that correspond increasingly more to the potential of this area. The Donnafugata adventure began in the Rallo family’s historic cellars in Marsala in 1983 and at its Contessa Entellina vineyards in the heart of western Sicily. In 1989, Donnafugata arrived on the island of Pantelleria and began producing naturally sweet wines. One of Italy’s finest wineries and praised by wine critics and wine lovers alike all over the globe, Donnafugata is known for its extensive range of wines, made with native varietals such as Ansonica (also known as Inzolia), Catarratto, Zibbibo and Nero d´Avola as well as international varietals like Viognier or Chardonnay. A winery with a conscience, Donnafugata prides itself on the sustainability of its vineyards and operations, with skilled foresight to the future. Additionally, as great supporters of the range of projects for promoting creativity, culture, and territory, each bottle label is carefully formed as a piece of art to tell the story right to the last drop.
