Sperss - 1999 - Langhe Nebbiolo DOC
Roșu rubiniu închis.
Palatul este marcat de echilibrul desăvârșit dintre fructuozitate, aciditate și taninuri.
Intensitate pronunțată de fructe roșii coapte cu note variate de cireșe amare, trandafir, portocală roșie și lemn dulce.
Fermentat și macerat pentru aproximativ 3 săptămâni urmate de maturare în stejar pentru 30 de luni.
Sperss este produs din vițele poziționate în Marenca-Rivette, comuna Serralunga d'Alba. Suprafața totală cultivată aici este de 12ha, aflată la o altitudine de 300m peste nivelul mării. Produs pentru prima oară in 1988, trece printr-un proces de macerare de 3 săptămâni pe boștină, maturare 12 luni în "barriques" și 18 luni în butoaie mari de stejar. Cei mai buni ani au un potențial de învechire de 40-50 de ani.

The 1999 Sperrs displays much Serralunga character in its licorice, asphalt, herb, and sweet dark fruit flavors, with notable persistence on the palate and a potent personality. A rising of menthol beautifully frames the big, tannic finish. A wine that kept developing in the glass, this Sperss offers outstanding potential for those who are patient enough to wait at least a few years. It should drink well until at least age 25. "Good full, deep red. Wild aromas of currant, camphor, leather, tar, dark chocolate and game, with an enticing floral topnote. Lush, sweet and concentrated, but with a powerful underlying spine. Classic sweet-but-dry Barolo of great brooding richness. Quite dominated today by its structure and austere on the aftertaste, but this young Barolo offers terrific depth and persistence on the palate.
