Château Palmer - 2012 - Margaux AC
Deep red.
The palate is fresh, fruity (raspberry, plum, and cherry combined with light oaky notes and a touch of vanilla and flowers), deep, elegant, concentrated, very well balanced. Full-bodied, with fine and well-integrated tannins, good length, and persistent aftertaste.
The nose is complex, elegant, and harmonious. It reveals notes of blackberries and blueberries associated with a touch of dark chocolate and a few hints of eucalyptus.
Aging: 22 months in oak barrels, 60% new. The new-oak and old-oak barrels were combined in vats for the final assemblage several weeks before bottling. The bottles were then left in the cellar to age for ten years.
