Alamos Catena Wines

The renowned Catena family began making Alamos in 1993. Its name is derived from the poplar trees that line the high altitude vineyards of Mendoza, Argentina and protect the vineyards from the mountain winds. From the vineyard to the winery, the Alamos wines are made to emphasize varietal fruit character. The cool evening temperatures in Catena's high altitude vineyards allow for prolonged hang time, preserving the fruit's full spectrum of aromas and flavors.

The Alamos winemaking philosophy is to make flavorful, drinkanle wines that preserve each varietal's distinctive arome, flavour and texture. Some of the Alamos wines aquire additional complexity from moderate oak aging. The Alamos winemaking team aims to make wines that are as good as wines twice theri price. Grapes for Alamos are hand harvested to ensure gentle andling. Alamos wines are made at Bodegas Alamos, a state of art facility loated in Vistaflores, Mendoza. The winery is specially designed conic tanks allow for soft, gentle extraction. The Alamos winemaking team is lead by Lucia Vaiaretti,a second generation winemaker and viticulturist, who has been working with the Catena Family for 12 years.
