Vin La Posta

La Posta

La Posta

Back in 2000, Laura discovered a handful of grape growers whose results in the vineyards with specific varietals have been truly amazing-year in, year out. Her first encounter with many of these growers was at a "posta del viñatero", meaning “tavern of the grape grower”. Here they drank wine and spoke passionately for hours about their soils, their vines, and their quest for superior flavors in their grapes.

One taste and you will welcome these growers into your own families, into your glass, and into your heart.

Each La Posta label illustrates a story of these individual families. The labels were inspired by Art Nouveau and Art Déco designs of the 1920's and 1930's.

Domingo Fazzio invites you to rest at the edge of the vineyard to find inspiration. You’ll hear about how his family moved to Argentina in search of a better life. And of the better life, they found as each vine took root. You’ll hear of his love of working the soil and dancing the tango.  Domingo Fazzio’s grandfather, Salvador, an Italian from Sicilia, traveled to Argentina in 1917 looking for a better life. Francisco Fazzio, his son, got married in Mendoza and had three children. In 1955, he bought 15 hectares in Tupungato to dedicate himself to viticulture. Domingo Fazzio, the third generation of Don Salvador Fazzio’s family, expanded the family business and purchased lands in Tupungato.

The Pizzella Family invites you to journey westward into the Uco Valley for a Sunday afternoon with their family. There will be no schedule beyond the sun warming your skin and the air filling your lungs. You will sit at the family table and with each passing moment, you will become more of a part of it. Paula and Pablo Pizzella came from Buenos Aires to Mendoza in 2000, where they achieved early success growing cool-climate Malbec grapes. Both parents are physical education teachers, and along with their three children get plenty of conditioning working this beautiful 10-hectare vineyard together.
