Château-Fuissé

The Château Fuissé dates back to 1604 and has been in the Vincent family for five generations. Each generation has added land, increased quality, and enhanced the worldwide recognition of the château. The château owns nearly 40 hectares, each planted with Chardonnay, covering five appellations, including Pouilly-Fuissé, Saint-Veran, Mâcon-Villages, Macone, and Juliénas. The estate of Château Fuissé includes vines exceeding 60 years of age that are vinified and bottled separately as Vieilles Vignes - a Chardonnay with an aging capability of up to 15 years or more. The "normal" Château Fuissé is also a selection from older vines at least 25 years of age. All the wines bearing the château label are barrel fermented in various oaks. Today, under the direction of Antoine Vincent, Jean-Jacques Vincent's son, Château Fuissé has reached the pinnacle of quality in the region, with its wines rivaling the more famous appellations of Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet, and Meursault to the north.
