Vin Léon Beyer

Léon Beyer

Léon Beyer
Maison Léon Beyer is one of the oldest wineries in Alsace. The family has owned vineyards at the picture-postcard village of Eguisheim since 1580. Maison Léon Beyer was founded in 1867 and is one of the Grandes Maisons d'Alsace, part negociant but also important land owner. For many years, the driving force behind this House was Léon Beyer. Without question, he was one of those figures who helped raise the quality of Alsace wines, championing his cause through the world's greatest restaurants. Today, his son Marc and grandson Yann are in charge, both qualified oenologists. The firm has 20 hectares of vineyards, including small Grands Crus Eichberg and Pfersigberg holdings. Maison Beyer produces around a million bottles annually from Alsace's grape varieties. Today, Léon Beyer produces an outstanding range of powerful, well-structured wines, including Gewurztraminers of great staying power and steely, pure Rieslings. The finest wine is the Cuvée des Comtes d'Eguisheim, one of Alsace's most concentrated and complex Gewurztraminers.  https://www.leonbeyer.fr/
