Vin Château Calon Ségur

Château Calon Ségur

Château Calon Ségur
Historians have identified successive owners of Château Calon Ségur since the 12th century, with the Gascq, Ségur, Dumoulin, Lestapis and Gasqueton families being among the most recent and best known. In 2012, the Gasqueton family sold Château Calon Ségur and Château Capbern to Suravenir, a subsidiary of the Crédit Mutuel Arkéa group. Jean-Pierre Denis, its president, formed a partnership with Jean-François Moueix and his son Jean, the owners of the Videlot group. Together they carried out renovation works worthy of the prestigious heritage of Château Calon Ségur. Grand Vin de Calon Ségur perfectly reflects its terroir. It's rare, authentic and soul-soothing. In the most natural way, it reveals both delicacy and remarkable intensity. All of Calon's magic is based on this balance. The wine is matured in new oak barrels for 20 months, the oak tannins harmoniously integrating over time with the grape tannins. The style is brought by a Cabernet Sauvignon that expresses its finesse without arrogance. Elegance is found everywhere, in the purity of the wine's aromas, in the delicacy of its texture, and its depth and length are superb. The wine's extraordinary ability to age beautifully for many years in the bottle is another characteristic of the estate. The years 1947, 1953 and 1982, for example, still show amazing signs of youth. https://www.calon-segur.fr/en/chateau-calon-segur/
