The Pèppoli estate is located 5 kilometers northeast of the Tenuta Tignanello estate and has a total area of 100 hectares, of which 50 hectares are planted with vines and this is where the famous Pèppoli Chianti Classico DOCG wine is produced. Pèppoli is a wine to be savored and appreciated as a perfect expression of the Chianti Classico territory, of its history, and traditional grape varieties. Despite the unusual exposure of the vineyards to the east/northeast, the microclimate is ideal. The small surrounding valley keeps the area warm and sheltered, and its stony soils are rich in minerals that give the Sangiovese grapes a lively fruity character. The Pèppoli vineyards are planted mainly with Sangiovese and only a small part with complementary varieties such as Merlot, Syrah and Malvasia. The Pèppoli estate also has a long tradition in the production of Pèppoli extra virgin olive oil and Pèppoli red wine vinegar obtained by traditional methods. Twenty-seven hectares are planted with around 5,500 olive trees, some of which are centuries old. Frantoio, Leccino and Moraiolo varieties are grown to produce Pèppoli organic extra virgin olive oil.
