Vin Hans Herzog Family Estate

Hans Herzog Family Estate is a family-owned winery and restaurant, supported by a unique team of people who share the same values: a passion for wine and food, and a commitment to excellence and quality. As the name suggests, winemaker Hans Herzog's roots lie in Switzerland, where the family has been growing vines since 1630. There, Hans and Therese owned the successful vineyard and restaurant "Taggenberg" in Zurich. Looking for a new challenge, in the mid-1990s they planted an 11.5ha vineyard on the banks of the Wairau River in Marlborough and later moved the winery and Michelin-starred restaurant here. They brought with them their philosophy of wine artisans and Hans adopted an experimentalist attitude, cultivating an eclectic range of grape varieties from which he makes exceptional wines year after year.
