Hickinbotham Clarendon Vineyard

Hickinbotham Clarendon Vineyard
Hickinbotham Clarendon Vineyard is located in the high hills of Clarendon, a sub-region in the northern part of McLaren Vale. First planted in 1971 with Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz, this vineyard has supplied grapes for many of Australia's iconic producers, but the wines produced here were not bottled under their own label until 2012. The first four wines bearing the Hickinbotham Clarendon Vineyard label, produced for the first time from the 2012 vintage, are Shiraz, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and a blend of Cabernet and Shiraz. Today, Hickingbotham Clarendon Vineyard is run by winemakers Christopher Carpenter and Peter Fraser and winemaker Michael Lane, continuing the production of these wines of strong and expressive character.
