Vin Tiefenbrunner
Tiefenbrunner
Founded in 1848 under the name Tiefenbrunner Schlosskellerei Turmhof, the winery was named after the medieval castle in the Nothern Italian town Entiklar, which the Tiefenbrunner family has owned for many generations. Entiklar is attested since prehistoric times, and the wine-making industry has played an economic role here since pre-Roman times. The Linticlar estate owned by the Tiefenbrunner family is mentioned in documents from 1225, and the name Turmhof was first used in 1537 and belongs to the family since 1675. Tiefenbrunner produces approximately 750,000 bottles annually, 70% of which are white wines. Most of the vineyards this winery owns are located along the Südtiroler Weinstrasse (South Tyrolean Wine Route), one of the most promising regions of Alto Adige. Part of the plantations is situated on the mountainous slopes of the region, with southern exposure and soil rich in limestone and clay, thus meeting all the conditions for producing very good quality grapes. The climate is Mediterranean, characterized by moderate rainfall and a substantial temperature difference between day and night, which provides the grapes with all the conditions to reach maturity.
