Vin La Scolca

La Scolca is an artisanal winery considered a pioneer of modern vinification of the Cortese variety. Founded in 1919, La Scolca has managed to differentiate itself among the producers of quality Gavi wines, standing out as one of the best wineries in Italy. This producer set a new level of quality and started the fashion for dry wines in Italy in 1966 when he launched the famous "Gavi dei Gavi". Today, the winery is managed by Chiara Soldati, exploiting 50 hectares of vines located around the family winery in the Rovereto Superiore region, Gavi commune. The proximity to the Mediterranean Sea and the mountains offers an ideal vine climate. The plantations were established on calcareous soils, similar to Champagne or Chablis. With the oldest Cortese vineyards in Piemonte, over 60 years old, with a long tradition in the art of winemaking, La Scolca offers the market spectacular, complex, and concentrated wines, which can be found on the menus of the most famous restaurants in the world.
