Visual

Deep garnet-red colour with violet hues.

Palate

Velvety, suave and highly complex. Impeccable balance with deep, lingering finish.

Nose

Dark fruits, bramby berries, and succulent cherries cavort on a bed of licorice, leather, incense and sweet baking spices.

Winemaking

Grapes are pressed at the end of January and after 20 days of maceration, alcoholic fermentation begins with indigenous yeasts. Fermentation lasts 45 days. Wine is then racked and ages in Slavonian oak barrels for 5 to 6 years. All of Quintarelli’s wines are capable of very, very long ageing, but none more so than the Recioto.
