Palate
Considerable depth. Elegant body, definite character, good acidity and a fresh, lingering finish.
Nose
It has a deep and surprising bouquet with a fine perfume of citrus fruits and flowers with a hint of honey.
Winemaking
Fermented in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures for approximately four weeks. Aged in barriques for 6-7 months (during which malolactic fermentation completes).
Rossj-Bass was first produced in 1988, using grapes from 3 different areas, Barolo, Barbaresco and Serralunga d'Alba. Rossj Vineyard, named after the youngest daughter of the couple Angelo and Lucia Gaja, is located in the Bricco area (Barbaresco village), being planted in 1984. Bass Vineyard, also planted in 1984, is located in the Pozzo area (Barolo village). The total area of 7ha is located at different altitudes: Rossj at 300m, Bass at 260m and Serralunga at 400m.
